Frequently asked questions about See-Through Storefront Window Graphics
You see out; they mostly do not see in during the day. The holes let light through both ways, but your eye settles on the brighter side, so from inside the shop the sunlit street shows through and from outside the printed film is what reads. That flips at night: with the lights on inside and dark outside, people on the sidewalk can see in through the holes and the graphic goes faint. If after-dark privacy matters, light the window from outside or use a solid decal on that pane.
Order any size you measure; the presets stop at 48 by 72 inches but the custom size box does not. A pane larger than one width of film is printed as two or more pieces with the seam placed on the proof, usually along a mullion or a line in the design where it will not show. Measure the glass inside the frame, width and height, and tell us where the frames fall; we lay the split to them. The price is the total area either way.
Perforated for a whole pane you still need to see out of; a decal for a logo or lettering on part of the glass; a cling for something that changes. Perforated film covers the glass with a picture and keeps your view. A printed decal is solid, so it blocks the glass it covers, which is fine for a logo and hours on a door. A cling has no adhesive, goes inside the glass, and peels off and goes back on. Many storefronts combine all three on one front.
It shades the glass it covers the way any printed film would, and it is not a tint or a solar film. The print blocks some direct sun on the covered pane, so the area behind it is a little less bright and glare on a screen or a display case is lower. We do not have a measured number for heat or UV reduction on this film, so we do not claim one. If heat is the problem, a solar film inside the glass can sit behind our graphic on the outside.

Good to know: Perforated film is single-sided and printed over tiny holes. Small text loses detail through the holes, so keep text large and lines bold.
How to measure a storefront window
Measure each pane of glass on its own, inside the frame, not the frame itself. Width at the widest point, height at the tallest, rounded up to the next half inch.
Order one graphic per pane. A window with a mullion down the middle is two panes, and the film stops at the frame on each.
The 24 x 36, 36 x 48 and 48 x 72 in presets cover common panes. A pane wider than 52 in needs a custom size and ships as two pieces that meet at a seam, so plan the art so a seam can hide in a plain area.
If a door sits inside the window run, measure the door glass separately. It swings, so it gets its own piece.

Install basics on a storefront window
- 1Clean the outside of the glass with soap and water, then a wipe of rubbing alcohol. Scrape off any old adhesive or paint with a glass scraper.
- 2Two people make large panes easy. Dry-fit the graphic and mark the top corners with masking tape.
- 3Peel the liner back about six inches along the top, stick that strip to your marks, and check it is level.
- 4Pull the liner down a foot at a time and squeegee from the center out, overlapping strokes, so no air is trapped.
- 5Trim to the frame with a sharp blade and press the edges hard with the squeegee.
- 6Avoid pressure washing. Clean with a soft cloth and mild soap.
