Frequently asked questions about Custom Back Window Graphics for Pickup Trucks
Measure your glass: width edge to edge at the widest point, height at the tallest, in inches, from outside the truck. The 14 by 53 preset suits a short, wide window; 18 by 58 covers most full-size crew cabs; 22 by 66 is for a tall rear window on a heavy duty cab. If your glass is 17.5 by 57, order 18 by 58 and trim after it is on, or type 17.5 by 57 as a custom size and skip the trimming. A sliding center section changes how you measure; see the next question.
Yes, with a split. A slider is three panes, two fixed outer panes and a center section that slides, with frames between them, and film across the frames would tear the first time the slider moved. Order the overall size, tell us it is a slider, and measure each pane. On the proof we split the design into one piece per pane, so it reads as one picture with the slider closed and the center pane still moves. If you never open the slider, you can still cover only the two outer panes and leave the center clear.
A touchless wash is fine once the film has set; give it a few days after application first. Brush washes and pressure washers aimed at the edges can lift a corner, because the adhesive only holds on the solid part of the film between the holes, which is less grip than a solid vinyl has. Hand washing is the safest. Keep a wand a couple of feet back and never spray straight at an edge. The laminated option is easier to wipe clean because the laminate covers the holes on the surface.
Yes, as long as it is yours to print. Your own photo, a flag, a hunting scene, a cross, your business name and number. We do not print trademarked logos or characters you do not own the rights to, and we do not print official team or brand marks. For a business design, make the phone number at least 4 inches tall so it reads from the car behind you. Send a high resolution file; a 58 inch wide print shows every flaw in a small web image. We check it on the free proof before anything prints.
Laminated for a daily driver, plain for a short run. The laminate is a clear layer over the print: it takes the scuffs, makes the film easier to wipe clean and adds UV protection to the color. On an 18 by 58 that is $117.69 plain or $128.39 laminated. Skip it if the graphic is for a season, an event or a sale and you plan to pull it off in a few months.
Yes, for a pickup with both outside mirrors. Texas DPS puts no restriction on the rear window when the vehicle has an outside mirror on each side giving a 200 ft view behind, and side windows behind the driver are exempt. Every modern pickup has both mirrors, so a full back window graphic is allowed in Texas. The standard is at https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/vehicle-inspection/window-tinting-standards . Other states differ; this isn't legal advice. If the truck is registered in another state, check that state's rule before you apply it.

What size fits my truck
Measure the glass only, not the rubber seal. Run a tape across the widest point of the back glass for the width and top to bottom at the tallest point for the height, then round up to the next half inch.
The three presets cover most pickups: 14 x 53 in for compact and midsize cabs, 18 x 58 in for most half-ton cabs, and 22 x 66 in for the tallest glass on heavy-duty crew cabs. Measure anyway; glass varies by year and cab.
Sliding rear windows work. The film goes on the outside of the glass and the slider still moves behind it. Tell us where the slider frame sits so the proof can keep a clear strip there if you want one.
A brake light at the top of the glass is normal. Note its position and we leave it clear.

Install basics for a truck back window
- 1Wash the outside of the glass with soap and water, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol. Clean the top edge under the cab roof too; dirt hides there.
- 2Dry-fit the graphic, center it, and mark the top corners with masking tape.
- 3Peel the liner back a few inches at the top, stick that strip to your marks, then pull the liner down a little at a time.
- 4Squeegee from the center out in overlapping strokes. Press hard along the slider frame if you have one.
- 5Trim the edge of the glass with a sharp blade and squeegee the edges once more.
- 6Wait 24 hours before a car wash.
