Will 26 x 66 fit my tailgate
Measure the tailgate across its full width and from the top edge to the bottom edge, following the surface, then add 2 in of bleed per edge. The 26 x 66 in universal size covers most half-ton and heavy-duty tailgates with bleed to spare.
A tailgate wider than 66 in or taller than 26 in needs a custom size. Midsize trucks are often smaller, and a custom size saves vinyl.
Note where the handle, the camera and any emblem sit. We can leave a cutout on the proof, or you cut around them during install.

File rules for wrap panels
- Add 2 inches of bleed on every edge, and include the bleed in the size you order.
- Panels wider than 52 inches are split into panels with a 1 inch overlap. The price is the size you order.
- Send one file per vehicle side, at full scale or at 1:10 with the scale in the file name, in CMYK, with fonts outlined, at 100 to 150 ppi at full size.
- Panels ship labeled in order, ready to install.
Install basics on a tailgate
- 1Wash the tailgate and wipe it with rubbing alcohol. Remove the emblem and, if you can, the handle bezel.
- 2Dry-fit the panel with masking tape and check the art against the handle and camera.
- 3Peel the liner, tack the top edge, and squeegee from the center out toward the sides, lifting and re-laying any wrinkle.
- 4Heat the vinyl into any stamped letters or recesses, then squeegee again.
- 5Cut around the handle and camera with a sharp blade and tuck the edges.
- 6Trim the bleed at the edges, post-heat them, and press them down. Wait 24 hours before washing.
