What Signs Do You Need for a Grand Opening?
A 6' × 3' 13oz Standard Custom Printed Banner is $133. Artwork prep is $14.99 per item. Printed in the USA in 3 business days and shipped nationwide, flat $10 shipping to any US address. For a grand opening, the banner names the business and the date; flags and window signs lead people to the door.
A grand opening needs three things from its signs: people have to learn something new is here, recognize the business name, and find the door. A custom vinyl banner does the first two from a distance, and smaller pieces close to the entrance do the third.
Start from the customer's route rather than a product list. Stand where a first time visitor first sees the building, then walk to the door and note every point where they might hesitate: a turn into the lot, a shared entrance, a door around the side. Each hesitation is a sign you may need. Each spot with no hesitation is a sign you can skip.
Every piece here is printed in the USA and ships to all 50 states.

What Should a Grand Opening Banner Say?
A grand opening banner should say "Grand Opening" or "Now Open," the business name, and at most one more line. That third line is either the date or one reason to come in, never both plus a phone number, hours and a list of services.
For example, Maple Street Bakery might print "Grand Opening, Saturday May 9" with the bakery logo. A dental office might print "Now Open, Accepting New Patients." Both read in a second from the parking lot. Hours, opening specials and the event schedule go on the window or an A-frame, where a visitor is standing close enough to read them.
Decide whether the banner should outlive the event. "Now Open" stays true for months, so the same banner can hang until permanent signage goes up. A dated banner has to come down the week after.
What Size Grand Opening Banner Do You Need?
Size the banner so the headline has about 1 inch of capital letter height for every 10 feet of reading distance. A banner read from 60 feet across a lot needs letters around 6 inches tall, which on a two word headline means a banner several feet wide.
On most storefronts, 6 x 3 ft is the starting point and the size the product page opens on. A banner across the full width of a building face or along a fence facing a road usually needs 4 x 8 ft or larger. Measure the wall first, in the direction the banner will hang, and keep text at least 2 inches inside every edge so the hem and grommets never touch a letter.
The banner opens on 13 oz Standard vinyl; 15 oz Premium is the recommended upgrade, and 18 oz Heavy Duty is the weight that can print on both sides. Our banner size chart lists every common size in feet with its letter height.
Where Should Grand Opening Signs Go?
Put the banner where the first glance lands, usually over the entrance or on the building face toward the road, and put the smaller pieces along the walk to the door. Take a photo from the street and look at it on your phone. If the banner is hard to find in the photo, it will be hard to find in person.
Ask the landlord or property manager before you hang anything. Many shopping centers limit the size and length of time for temporary banners, and many cities require a temporary sign permit. Settle the location first, then order the size that fits it.
Keep doors, ramps and walkways clear. A feather flag needs room to turn in the wind, and a yard sign should never sit where a car door or a stroller can hit it.

When Should You Add Flags, Window Graphics or Yard Signs?
Add each one only when it solves a problem the banner cannot. A feather angled flag helps when the building sits back from the road or shares a lot with other stores; its motion catches the eye before the banner can. It comes from a Small 9 ft to an X-Large 18 ft, and every Flag + Pole kit ships with a ground stake and a carry bag.
A window cling is static cling film with no adhesive, which suits opening hours or an opening week special that will change. 18 x 24 yard signs with arrows help when the entrance is around the side or the parking lot has more than one way in.
Flyers or postcards reach people who will never drive past. Hand them out at neighboring businesses, include them in the first orders, or mail them to nearby addresses.
What Should Your Opening Artwork Checklist Include?
Check every sign against one approved page of facts before you approve any proof. A date fixed on the banner does not fix itself on the flyer.
- The exact business name and the current logo file.
- The opening date and the day of the week, matched on every piece.
- Hours for opening day and for a normal week.
- Any opening offer, with its end date and conditions.
- The phone number and web address, typed and then tested.
- The measured size of each wall, window and post the signs will go on.
- Which pieces carry a date and which are meant to stay up.
When Should You Order Grand Opening Signs?
Order once the opening date is firm, and count backward from the day you want the signs up. Production starts when you approve the proof, not when you upload the file, and shipping transit comes after production.
The banner and the A-frame take the longest at 3 business days. Flags and yard signs print the next business day, and window clings and flyers in 48 hours. Order everything together and plan to have it in hand a few days before the soft opening, so there is time to hang the banner and fix anything you want changed. The printing turnaround guide lists production for every product.
What to Check on Proofs for Grand Opening Signs
Check that the date matches across every piece. The banner says Saturday the 9th, the flyer says the 10th, and nobody noticed because each was checked on its own. Lay all the proofs side by side before you approve any of them.
Next, check for a logo that came from a website or a social profile. It looks sharp on a phone and soft on a 6 x 3 ft banner. Send the original logo file if you have it. If you only have a screenshot or an AI image, artwork prep is $14.99 per item and we rebuild it for print before the proof.
Then check for too much copy. A banner carrying hours, a menu, a phone number, a web address and a QR code reads as a gray block from the street. Keep the banner to its headline and let the window and the A-frame carry the rest.
How Do You Order Grand Opening Signs?
Choose the banner size and vinyl weight, add the flag, window and yard signs your route needs, and upload your artwork. Design it for me is $29.99 and is free on items $499 and up.
A free digital proof comes with every order, and nothing prints until you approve it. Each product ships for a flat $10 to any US address. After the opening, take down anything dated, roll the banner with the print facing out, and save the approved files and measurements for the next promotion.
Frequently Asked Questions
A 6' × 3' 13oz Standard Custom Printed Banner is $133. Artwork prep is $14.99 per item. Printed in the USA in 3 business days and shipped nationwide, flat $10 shipping to any US address. Smaller banners start at $64.19, and the price moves with the size and vinyl weight you choose.
6 x 3 ft fits most storefront walls and is where the banner page opens. Size up by reading distance: about 1 inch of capital letter height for every 10 feet, so a banner read across a parking lot usually needs 4 x 8 ft or wider.
3 business days of production after you approve the free digital proof, plus shipping transit. Feather flags print the next business day and window clings in 48 hours, so the banner usually sets the order date.
2 or 3 lines at most: Grand Opening, the business name, and the date or Now Open. Put hours, offers and the full schedule on a window cling or an A-frame where people stand close.
1 dated banner is useful for the weeks before you open. If you want the banner to stay up after opening day, print Now Open instead of a date, and put the date on a smaller sign you can take down.
3 more pieces cover most openings: a feather flag at the curb, a window cling with hours on the door, and yard signs pointing the way if the entrance is hard to find. Buy only the ones that solve a real problem at your location.
