What Should the Front of a Contractor Door Hanger Do?
Door hanger ideas for contractors start with one clear job on the front and the offer on the back. Inline Graphics prints 250 pieces at 3.5 x 8.5 in, both sides, for $246.09. Production is 3 to 5 business days after proof approval, with flat $10 shipping per product.
Lead the front with one service and one action for the homeowner: call, scan or book by a date. Both faces print in the price and the smallest run is 250.
A hanger is not a flyer someone asked for. It hangs on a knob until a person either reads one line or throws it out. The front earns the next five seconds. The back holds the proof: what you will do, when the offer ends, and how to call. Order from door hangers. Other paper pieces, if you need them later, are under print marketing. We print and ship the box to you. We do not knock on doors, sell a route list, or mail the pieces.
Where your trade requires a license number on advertising, print it. Check your state. That check covers roofers, HVAC, plumbers, and anyone else with a state rule. If the state does not require the number, a license line is still fine. A fake number is not.

Which Door Hanger Ideas Fit Each Trade?
These nine ideas cover roofing, HVAC, plumbing, lawn care, pest control, painting and remodeling. Each one is a message you can print, not a promise about how many calls come back. We do not publish a response rate.
1. The neighbor's house, for remodelers, painters, and roofers. Front: "We're working on your neighbor's house," plus the trade, such as a roof, a repaint, or a remodel. Do not print the customer's street number unless that customer said you may. "On this block" is enough. Back: the phone, what the crew is doing in plain words, and an end date for any estimate offer. This hanger works while the trucks are still on the street. It is a weak piece a month later.
2. HVAC tune-up with a last day. Front: a tune-up before the season turns, with the last date the visit price on the card is valid. Back: what the visit includes, in a short list you can actually perform, and the phone. Do not print a percent off you have not set. The date is what makes the stack honest. When the date passes, stop hanging that design.
3. Roofer storm check. Front: a look at the roof after a named storm, with the last day you will still schedule from this card. Back: what you will look at, and what you will not promise. Skip insurance-claim language unless you are ready to stand behind it. Hold the cards until the storm response on that street is finished, and skip any door that has posted a refusal.
4. Painter, two photos. Front: one line that names the work, such as an exterior repaint. Back: one photo of the house before the work and one photo after it, plus the phone. Use your own job, with the homeowner's permission. The taller 4.25 x 11 in card is the size that gives those two photos room. The shorter card is tight for a pair of pictures.
5. Lawn care, first visit of the season. Front: the service and the week it starts, or the last day the printed price holds. Back: what is included in that visit and what is a separate trip, such as cleanup versus a weekly cut. A date beats a vague season word.
6. Pest control, one pest. Front: the pest you actually treat, not a list of every fear. Back: the visit window and the phone. Do not invent an infestation count for the street. Focus on one pest or one service.
7. Plumber, with the license line. Front: the job, such as a water-heater check or a leak visit, and a last day. Back: the license number when your state requires it on the ad, the phone, and what the visit does not include. A leak scare without a real offer is a bad front. A dated visit is a usable one.
8. A dated offer any crew can run. Front: the offer in one line and the calendar date it ends. Back: the conditions, in type large enough to read, so the date is not hiding a limit. "This month" is weaker than a date, because a box of hangers outlives a month. When the date hits, recycle the leftovers. Do not keep hanging a dead offer.
9. Remodeler estimate window. Front: the kind of project, such as a kitchen or a bath, and the last day you are booking estimates from this card. Back: how to send a photo of the room, by phone or by a QR code that opens your own page. The code should open that next step, not a long menu.
What Belongs on the Back?
The back answers three questions: what is included, when the offer ends, and how to reach you. 250 pieces already include that second side.
Put the phone number in large type. Put the end date next to it. Add the license number on this side when the front is too crowded and the state still requires the number. A QR code is useful when it opens a booking page, a photo of the finished job, or the listing of services named on the front. It is wasted when it opens a homepage and makes the reader search.
Keep type away from the handle slot and away from the trim. Confirm that on the proof. We do not publish a point weight for the cover stock, and we do not cut a coupon perforation or a custom outline. The slot is the standard one.
What Size Is a First Run, and What Does It Cost?
The first rung is 250. At 3.5 x 8.5 in that order is $246.09, about $0.98 each. At 4.25 x 11 in it is $385.19.
Count doors before you pick the rung. 500 of the 3.5 x 8.5 in hangers are $267.49, about $0.53 each, which is $21.40 more than 250. That jump is the right buy when the counted doors are over 250 and not over 500. 1,000 of the smaller size are $331.69, about $0.33 each. Buy 1,000 when you have the doors, not when the unit price looks low. Size details beyond these two cards are in door hanger sizes. If you are deciding between a hanger and a postcard, that comparison is in door hangers versus postcards.

A file you already have is prepared for $14.99 per item through AI image to print, once per cart line. Design it for me is $29.99 with two revisions, free when the item is $499 or more. The 2,500 piece row at $513.59 qualifies. The 250 piece row does not. There is no production setup fee, and we do not offer a free online designer. The free digital proof comes after you order.
Where Do You Hang Them, and Where Do You Not?
Hang them on the doorknob. Do not put them in a mailbox.
Federal law, 18 U.S.C. 1725, makes it an offense to knowingly put unstamped mailable matter in a mailbox to avoid paying postage, and USPS rules keep anything without postage out of the box. A hanger on the knob is generally outside that rule. Solicitation ordinances, HOA rules, and a sign that refuses soliciting still vary by city and by property. Skip those doors. This is general information, not legal advice.
How Do Proof, Production, and Shipping Work?
Production is 3 to 5 business days after you approve the proof. Ground shipping is about 3 business days at a flat $10 per product.
Approve on a weekday before 12 PM Central and the approval counts that day, so production starts the next business day. After noon, or on a weekend, the approval counts from the next business day. On the proof, check the offer date, the phone digits, the license line if you included one, both photos if you used them, and both faces. Scan any QR code. Printed in the USA. The $10 ships the carton to you. It is not postage for each house, and a second product in the same cart is another $10.
