Canopy Tent Frames Compared

Same custom-printed canopy on every one. The frame underneath it is the only thing that changes. There are 5 of them on the 10x10, two metals between them: 3 in aluminum and 2 in powder-coated steel. A full custom 10x10 runs $973.69 to $2,086.49 depending on which frame you pick, and the warranty runs from none at all on the V6 to a lifetime on the V3.

The Short Answer

Three questions, answered up front

01

What is actually different

Five things, and nothing else. The canopy, the print and the walls are identical across all 5 tiers.

Material:
Aluminum, Powder-coated steel and Anodized aluminum
Wall thickness:
0.8 mm to 2 mm
Leg shape and size:
hexagonal and square, 32 mm to 50 mm
Weight:
32 lb to 52 lb
Durability:

02

What each one costs

The V6 is included in the $973.69 full custom 10x10. Every other tier is that price plus its upgrade.

  • V6$973.69 (included)
  • V5$1,294.69 (+$321)
  • V4$1,423.09 (+$449.40)
  • V4 Lite$1,519.39 (+$545.70)
  • V3$2,086.49 (+$1,112.80)

Walls, sandbags and a wheeled bag are separate add-ons on the product page. Ground shipping is a flat $10 per order.

03

What the warranty is

The warranty belongs to the frame, not to the printed canopy. 4 of the 5 tiers carry one.

  • V6None
  • V51 year
  • V42 years
  • V4 Lite2 years
  • V3Lifetime

The V6 has no warranty. That is worth knowing before you buy rather than after, which is why it is on this page and on the product page.

Every tier carries the same canopy: full-color dye-sublimated print across all four peaks and valances, seam to seam. The frame is the only thing that changes. The V6 has no warranty. The V4 Lite is the lighter frame to carry, not the tougher one: it rates 6 out of 10 against the V4 at 7 out of 10, on the same 45 mm legs.

Which frame is for you

V6 canopy tent frame, aluminum with hexagonal 40 mm legs

Value V6

A season of markets or a one-off launch

Occasional use: a season of farmers markets, a one-off launch, a booth that goes up a handful of times a year. This tier carries no warranty, which is worth knowing before you buy rather than after.

Who it is for

Buy this one if the tent goes up a handful of times a year: a season of farmers markets, one launch, a company picnic. It is the frame included in the full custom price, so it is also the right pick when the budget is fixed and the tent has one job. Know going in that it carries no warranty.

Good V5

Steel construction and a real warranty

Regular but gentle use. Steel construction and a one-year warranty. The square leg is the visual tell: every other tier is hexagonal.

Who it is for

The lowest step up from included. Steel construction and a real warranty term for the smallest upgrade on the ladder, which suits occasional outdoor use where you want some coverage behind the frame. The square leg is the visual tell, since every other tier is hexagonal.

Heavier duty, for a booth out most weekends

The workhorse. Heavier steel, wider legs, a two-year warranty. For a team out most weekends where the frame takes real handling.

Who it is for

The workhorse of the five. Buy it if a team sets the booth up and tears it down most weekends: weekly markets, event crews, anyone whose tent lives in a trailer. It is the heaviest duty steel we sell, with the thicker walls and wider legs to match.

Same 45 mm legs as the V4, 20 lb lighter to carry

For when someone has to carry it. Identical 45 mm hexagonal legs to the V4 and the same two-year warranty, 20 lb lighter, with a slightly lower durability rating. Lighter to carry, not tougher.

Who it is for

The same customer as the V4, minus the crew. If one person loads the tent into a car and carries it across a parking lot alone, this is the frame: identical 45 mm legs and the same warranty term, roughly 20 lb lighter. It costs more than the V4 because it is lighter to carry, not because it is tougher.

Weekly use, years of it. The thickest walls, the widest legs and a lifetime warranty. For an operation where the tent is equipment, not a purchase.

Who it is for

For daily or commercial use, and for anyone who would rather buy once. The thickest walls, the widest legs and the only lifetime warranty in the lineup. If the tent is equipment your business runs on rather than a purchase you make, this is the one.

The Warranty

What the warranty covers

The warranty is a property of the frame tier you buy. It covers the frame hardware: the legs, the trusses and the joints that make up the pop-up structure. The printed canopy, the full walls and the half walls are separate line items on your order and are not part of it.

What the frame warranty covers. Defects in the materials and workmanship of the frame itself, for the term listed on the tier: 1 year on the V5, 2 years on the V4 and V4 Lite, lifetime on the V3. If a leg, truss bar or connector fails because it was made wrong, the frame manufacturer corrects, repairs or replaces the defective part and covers the parts and labor. Shipping a defective part back to the manufacturer is at your expense, and a repair or replacement does not restart the warranty clock.

What it does not cover. Normal wear, damage from misuse or neglect, damage from leaving the tent up in high wind, and damage from skipping the care the manufacturer prescribes. Wind is the one that matters in San Antonio: no frame warranty in this industry covers a tent that blew over, on any tier, at any price. The printed canopy, walls and accessories are separate items on your order and are not part of the frame warranty.

The V6 value frame. It carries no manufacturer warranty. What you get is the arrival inspection window described below, and nothing after it. That is the trade you make for the $973.69 price.

Inspect on arrival. Every frame, the V6 included, has to be checked the day it arrives. Report shipping damage or a defect to us within 5 business days of delivery and before the first setup, with your order number and photos, and we handle the claim with the manufacturer. Call (210) 293-5651 or reply to your order confirmation email. Mon-Fri 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM · Sat 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM · Sun closed.

How to make a tent last

Most tents that fail early were not defective. They were packed wet, left standing in wind, or set on pavement with nothing holding them down.

  • Dry the canopy before it goes back in the bag. Packing it damp is what causes mildew, and mildew is not a frame problem the warranty can help with.
  • Do not leave a tent standing unattended in wind. No frame in this lineup is rated for that, and we do not publish wind ratings we cannot stand behind.
  • Ballast it every time. Stakes work on grass, and on pavement you need weight: the four-piece sandbag set is $133 on the product page.
  • Extend and collapse the legs one at a time, evenly, rather than forcing a corner. Bent legs are the most common frame damage we see.
  • Store it indoors and off a concrete floor. Long stretches in a hot vehicle are hard on the canopy print and on the leg locks.

Artwork help is +$32.10 if you want our in-house design team to build the canopy graphic, and uploading your own carries no setup fee. Either way you approve a free digital proof before anything prints.

Good to Know

Canopy Tent Frame Questions

Weight, and almost nothing else. Both stand on 45 mm hexagonal legs with 1.2 mm walls and both carry a 2 year warranty. The V4 is powder-coated steel at 52 lb and rates 7 out of 10 for durability. The V4 Lite is anodized aluminum at 32 lb and rates 6 out of 10. The Lite costs more because it is 20 lb lighter to carry, not because it is tougher. Pick the V4 if the tent lives on a trailer and takes hard handling, and the V4 Lite if one person loads it into a car.

No. The five frame tiers are a 10x10 choice only. The 10x15 and the 10x20 ship on the same 40 mm aluminum hexagonal frame the V6 uses, because our vendor does not publish the upgrade tiers in those footprints. If you want a heavier frame in a larger footprint, call (210) 293-5651 and we will tell you honestly what is and is not available.

No. The warranty belongs to the frame tier you buy, so it covers defects in the materials and workmanship of the frame itself. The printed canopy, the full walls, the half walls and the accessories are separate items on your order and are not part of the frame warranty. Inspect everything the day it arrives and report shipping damage or a defect to us within 5 business days at (210) 293-5651 with your order number and photos.

No. Every frame manufacturer excludes damage from use in high wind, misuse and normal wear. The warranty covers defects in how the frame was made. Weight the legs, and take the tent down when the wind picks up.

We do not publish wind ratings on these frames, and we will not invent one. What we can tell you is the tradeoff. The powder-coated steel tiers, the V5 and the V4, are heavier and sit more solidly on their own. The anodized aluminum tiers, the V4 Lite and the V3, are easier to carry, and the V3 carries the thickest walls and widest legs of the five. Either way, ballast is what actually keeps a tent down. Use the four-piece sandbag set on pavement and stakes on grass, and take the tent down when weather turns.

Not on an existing order. The frame ships with the tent, so the tier you pick at checkout is the frame you receive. A different frame later is a new order for a replacement frame, which we can quote by phone at (210) 293-5651. It is cheaper to choose the right tier the first time, which is what this page is for.

The V6 value frame is 3-4 business days of production. All four upgrade tiers, the V5, V4, V4 Lite and V3, run about 2 weeks. Production starts when you approve your free digital proof, not when you place the order, and shipping transit is on top of that. Flat $10 ground shipping applies to every order.

Your frame, the full-color dye-sublimated canopy printed seam to seam on 6oz weatherproof polyester, plus ropes, stakes and a carry bag. The legs telescope from 124.5 to 137 inches and the frame pops up without tools. Sandbags, full walls and half walls are optional add-ons priced on the product page, not part of the base price.
