Block the View or Soften It

Blackout vinyl covers the glass with an opaque surface that blocks the view and light through the covered area. It suits storage, back-of-house spaces and panes where nothing behind the glass should remain visible.

Frosted film serves a different purpose. It blurs shapes and details while allowing some light through, and it can be installed as a plain field or cut with a logo or pattern. Inline Graphics measures, proofs and installs each option with our crew.

When to Choose Blackout or Frosted Film

Choose blackout vinyl when the covered glass must block the view and light. It works for concealed storage, back-of-house rooms, unused panes and areas where privacy must hold after dark.

Choose frosted film when the goal is to blur people, screens or room details while keeping some light. A cut logo or pattern can add branding, but clear openings in that pattern also leave a view through those areas.

Choose perforated film for a full-color graphic with a daytime view out, or printed opaque decals and cut lettering when the glass needs a message instead of privacy coverage.

Blackout and Privacy Film Options

Blackout Vinyl

Cover the measured area with opaque vinyl that blocks both the view and light through the glass.

Plain Frosted Film

Blur shapes and details across office, conference room, storefront or interior glass without creating full blackout.

Cut Frosted Logos

Build a logo, pattern, stripe or clear opening into the frosted layout after the glass is measured.

Nighttime Privacy

Use blackout vinyl when the covered pane must stay opaque even when the interior is brighter than the space outside.

Pane-Specific Coverage

Cover complete panes or defined areas while accounting for frames, doors, handles and adjacent graphics.

Installed by Our Crew

Our crew confirms the glass, prepares the surface, aligns the approved film, installs it and cleans the work area.

How an Install Goes

  1. Measure

We measure the glass, wall or floor on site, or start from your measurements and photos, and confirm the right film for each surface.

  2. Proof

You get a proof drawn to the measured sizes. Nothing is printed or cut until you approve it.

  3. Print

We print or cut your graphics to the approved proof, sized for the surfaces we measured.

  4. Install

Installs are scheduled by appointment after you approve the proof. Our crew installs the graphics and cleans up before leaving.

Blackout and Privacy Window Vinyl FAQ

Blackout vinyl from Inline Graphics is $7.49 to $10.70 per square foot installed, plain frosted film is $9.10 to $12.84 per square foot installed, and frosted film with a cut logo or pattern is $12.84 to $17.12 per square foot installed, with a $267.50 minimum job charge. The quote follows measured glass area, selected film, access and any removal that needs to be added.

Blackout vinyl blocks the view through the glass and blocks light through the covered area. Inline Graphics recommends it for storage, back-of-house rooms or panes that must not show what is behind them. It is opaque rather than see-through, so it is not the choice when people inside need a view out.

Frosted film blurs shapes and details, but it does not create full blackout. Inline Graphics uses plain frosted film for a consistent privacy field and cut frosted film when a logo or pattern should appear in the design. Choose blackout vinyl when the goal is to block both the view and light through the covered area.

No, blackout vinyl does not work as a see-through graphic. Inline Graphics can use opaque printed window vinyl when the pane needs a printed image, or perforated film when people inside need a daytime view out. The right choice starts with whether you need privacy, light control, a printed message or visibility through the glass.

Yes, blackout vinyl keeps the covered pane opaque when interior lights are on at night. Inline Graphics recommends it when nighttime privacy must not depend on the balance between indoor and outdoor light. Frosted film still blurs the view, while perforated film can reveal the interior after dark when the room is brighter than outside.

Frosted film is an option when a conference room needs a blurred view without losing all light. Inline Graphics can install a plain frosted field or a cut logo or pattern. If the room must be fully concealed and the covered area should not pass light, choose blackout vinyl instead.

Existing tint needs to be checked before blackout or frosted film is installed. Inline Graphics reviews which surface carries the tint, the condition of the glass and the film planned for the new work. Our crew confirms the application from photos or a site measure before the proof is approved and installation is scheduled.

Removal is available as a quoted extra for blackout and privacy window vinyl. Inline Graphics inspects the existing film and access before adding that work to the quote. A business may remain open when the work area can be managed safely, and installation is scheduled by appointment after proof approval.
